IALCCE Honorary Membership
The 2023 IALCCE Honorary membership is bestowed upon Mark P. Sarkisian in recognition of significant contributions to the design of environmentally responsible structures incorporating life-cycle concepts.
Fazlur R. Khan Life-Cycle Civil Engineering Medal
The Fazlur R. Khan Life-Cycle Civil Engineering Medal was established to honor Fazlur R. Khan outstanding contributions to structural engineering in general and in particular to life-cycle civil engineering. This award is made to a member of the International Association of Life-Cycle Civil Engineering who has made definite contributions to the advancement of life-cycle civil engineering through journal or conference papers, or other written presentations.
The 2023 Fazlur R. Khan Life-Cycle Civil Engineering Medal is awarded to Luis Esteva Maraboto in recognition of significant contributions to seismic analysis and design of structures incorporating life-cycle concepts.
IALCCE Awards
The IALCCE awards are made to members of IALCCE for distinguished achievements in the areas of Life-Cycle Civil Engineering.
- Senior Award (nominees must be above 42 years of age by January 1st, 2023)
- Junior Award (nominees must be 42 years of age or younger at January 1st, 2023)
Selections is based on past achievements.
The 2023 IALCCE Senior Award is presented to Michel Ghosn in recognition of contributions to life-cycle design of structures under extreme events.
The 2023 IALCCE Junior Award is presented to You Dong in recognition of contributions to life-cycle structural engineering.
IALCCE Special Service Award
The 2023 IALCCE Special Service Award is presented to:
- Airong Chen and Xin Ruan in recognition of outstanding service to IALCCE as organizers of the Seventh International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE 2020), Shanghai, China, October 27-30, 2020.
- Robby Caspeele and Luc Taerwe in recognition of outstanding service to IALCCE as organizers of the Sixth International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE 2018), Ghent, Belgium, October 28-31, 2018.
IALCCE Awards Committee and Ceremony
The 2023 IALCCE Award Committee is chaired by Professor Hitoshi Furuta. The 2023 IALCCE Awards are presented at the Awards Ceremony on July 4th, 2023, Cascina San Carlo, Caravaggio, Italy.
